Ploofy

Now

his voice a
whispered
command alerted the
tiny tendrills
down
the back of her neck

Look up

lifting her eyes she
saw
the mirror’s frame
salted silver
silver tone
stain
less
the mark
of a Midscale Hotel

(She had wanted neon
neon and mock brass
neon and vibrating fingers)

Look

he stepped closer
the hot brush of his
hardness
‘gainst the chilly
dew
of her soft ass

Look

within the
gilt
less
edge
she saw him

right hand splayed
locked
crushing
hers
‘gainst the cheval glass

slowly
her eyes
followed
the arm
strong
rigid
hard
a gypsum cast
aglow atop her
summer
burned skin

Look

the deliberate
constriction
of his left arm
’round her belly
feet
lifted from the
deep pile

(She had wanted tile
tile and crumbling flowered wallpaper
tile and flickering yellow bulbs)

Look

she saw
before
she felt
the thrust

saw it in the
tilt of his head
saw it in the
flex of his muscles
saw it in the
drop of his sweat
falling
hot
on her shoulder

Look

a hiss now

Look

a hiss
with each thrust

Look!

So

for a moment
for a glycerine
crystalline
impossible
moment
she looked
she saw
what
he saw
staring back at them

as

shuddering
he pulled her
hard
into him

and

slowly
soundlessly
she
closed
her eyes
