Cassandra listens
To the words
That mean
Nothing
That mean
Everything
To him
What the god
Has given
Cannot be
Rescinded
Only
Ruined
She tastes
His seed
Christ’s vinegar
On the
Cross
Licks her lips
In wonder
Wounded
Lost
Nods and
Smiles and
Never says
Go
Go
Go

“Words that mean nothing; words that mean everything.”
This is sometimes the paradox we find ourselves in when trying to make sense out of what we have and what we don’t have.
I thought this was a very strong opening stanza.
And from there, the poem just gets intense.
Very powerful.
thank you, my friend — is so good to see you here 🙂
