Chrome and Glass

This was written in response to a challenge to write something based on the picture shown here.

Just like him

                  she thought

to meet at Chrome and Glass

Chrome and Glass and Cheap

                                          Champagne

supposing, again, and always

                                         wrong

that this

is what will

                please

her

How is it possible

                          she thought

to live with someone Twenty Years

and still, again, and always

                                       know

nothing

He will arrive

                  exactly

on time

            Teutonically

accurate

Minutes measured like

                                cubits

carved into coffins, his

                                eyes

the only difference in

                              all

the world

He will smile

                 as will She

but neither will

                      recall

when a smile was

                         all

the world in

                 all

the world of

                Chrome and Glass

that would

               ever

                      really

                              shine
