Day
dead weeds tumble
frozen by Boreas’
late arriving winter
Apolo’s calves mewl
across new-baled blocks
of snowball cotton
and
peru
is the only colour
Night
Orion loosens his belt
dropping stars down
the length of his shaft
deer flee Diana’s arrows
darting pale-assed
across caliche roads
and
manganese
is the only colour
Morning
red tailed hawks
hunting breakfast
caw Britomartis’ name
steel grasshopers
pump dinosaur blood
from Hades’ veins
and
viridian
is the only colour
While
leather rose
gainsboro pearl
and
cobalt blue
cut
‘cross Gaia as
mating
she sprays black Titan
blood in filigreed
bands
along the Plains
