A Crown of Dark Water

Words fall from you
full and complete, with
neither complaint nor
compromise.

Not so for me.
Not so at all.

It takes me so long.
Careless with my
lenses, I cannot find
them when needed;

cannot focus them
when found.  All sense
of perspective is lost in
the angle of the sun.

Nights like this, though.
Nights like this.

I feel you ever deeper
inside me, ever closer
beside me, for the lack
of, for the need of, you.

The strength of your
hand closes over mine;
the breath of your
whisper fills my ear,

Let her out, let her go.
Let her speak.

The brush of your smile
upon my neck, the light
of pride in your eyes, wins
out and she is loosed,

as so seldom she is, to say
I love you, darling.
I miss you, darling.
Please.  Come home soon.
